That New Blog Smell

Do you smell that? Do you smell it? Well, I can...It's the smell of a freshly started blog. No, it's not like the smell of a new car - not to me anyway. Besides, the smell of a new car, to me, just smells like money and monthly payments. It's like the smell of an open field - freedom. With this blog I have the opportunity to write whatever I want, and maybe - just maybe - allow others to peer into my mind (For those who know me, brace yourselves!!). Now, what I'll write about is still unknown to me, but I'm taking this thing one day at a time, and so you should expect nothing and hope for something.

I think the concept of a blog is really quite genius. It's the ability to convey thoughts and feelings, express views or opinions, share stories - successes and tragedies, cry and laugh, bitch, complain (funny how those two ended up in succession) and all of it is done without a diploma. There's no degree requirement for the job of a blogger. And I gotta tell ya, there are some pretty talented bloggers out there...Most of the material is a hell of a lot more interesting than any newspaper, magazine or any other printed material that's floating out there. So, in summary, I'm excited to have the ability to write about whatever the hell I want to - be it as simple, stupid or mundane as it might.

So, hello to all. Thanks for reading (I realize that right now I'm thanking myself and probably my family members, but what the hell...If it makes me feel better, than who the hell cares?!?!) I'm going to get a refill on coffee (and I just might add a little something to the bottom of the cup).
